One of the best events in all of St. Louis is the St. Nicholas Greek Festival. The event is held every year on Labor Day weekend. The festival is located at the St. Nicholas Church near Forest Park and provides visitors the opportunity to learn more about Greek culture, music, food, dancing, and religion. The event is free and visitors can grab some delicious Greek food and then watch a performance. The festival is extremely popular so there are typically loads of people no matter the weather forecast, but there are lots of tables under tents to keep visitors dry or cool. If for some reason you are unable to stay, you can even get food to go! We highly recommend staying to enjoy the performances, as well as the tour. The church provides free tours for visitors to learn more about the Greek Orthodox Church and explore the beautiful architecture. You can also stop by the gift shop to purchase any religious goods you may need. We have visited many times and always found it to be a fun and flavorful experience!
