Washington Wine Week – Day 3

One of our favorite Washington wineries is Owen Roe in Wapato, WA. The winery is situated a short distance off of interstate 82, making it pretty easy to get to. Owen Roe is situated in a large red barn in the hills of the Yakima Valley, providing lovely relaxed views. Outside there are a few table and chairs to enjoy the scenery and a glass of wine, while inside the decor is fairly simple and rustic, with succulents on the top of old wine barrels for a natural decoration.

When we visited we were seated inside along the windows, providing a cozy tasting experience. The tasting allowed us to try an assortment of their wines, as well as a couple of extra based on our responses. Owen Roe makes both red and white wines, but focuses a bit more on red wines. The tasting was good and we found each of their wines to be quite nice. We decided to purchase a couple of bottles of wine and have continued to enjoy! If you are in the Yakima Valley, we definitely recommend a visit to Owen Roe.
