Although St. Louis will be getting a MLS team soon, soccer has been a part of St. Louis history for a long time and residents are able to already experience soccer games through the local team Saint Louis FC. The team is a minor league team located in the metro area in St. Louis County. Games take place at the West Community Stadium along the Meramec River, which is easily accessible from highway 44. Tickets are available for single games or season tickets that typically take place from February to October and are accompanied with a vibrant fan base. We have visited an assortment of minor league games and the Saint Louis FC fans were some of the most devoted we have experienced. The stadium was pretty crowded when we visited and it was a fairly warm St. Louis evening game so being located along the river helped to provide a cool breeze. The game itself was okay since it ended in a draw, but the crowd was quite robust, making for a fun experience. For those who just want to hang out and enjoy soccer, Saint Louis FC is a nice evening out.
