Reuben’s Brews opened in Ballard in 2012. Since then, the brewery outgrew its original taproom, opening a larger location in Ballard, and added another taproom in downtown Seattle near Pike Place Market. In addition to their taprooms, it’s easy to spot Reuben’s beer (just look for the cursive “r”) in stores throughout the Seattle area, as well as the greater Pacific Northwest.
We visited Reuben’s Ballard taproom. While there was a festival going on at the time, we were still able to enter the brewery and find a seat on their large outdoor patio. The patio itself is simple, but pleasant. The inside of the brewery is smaller, but clean, with neutral colors and lots of industrial elements.
Reuben’s brews a large number of beers, many of which are available widely in cans, though others are smaller batches brewed specifically for the brewery. We got to sample several of their beers in a tasting flight and enjoyed a nice meal with our beers. Overall, Reuben’s has very tasty beer–in addition to our taproom visit, we’ve tried many of their other beers in cans, and we have yet to find one we haven’t enjoyed. While there are many breweries in Seattle, Reuben’s is a must-visit if you like good beer.
