Small Towns – Day 5

One of our favorite things to do is to visit small towns, and explore the different personalities that each town has. It seemed fitting to end small town week with a classic Midwesterner river town, LeClaire, IA. Right along the Mississippi, just a little further up the river from the Quad Cities, LeClaire has a charming little downtown with boutiques, galleries, shops, restaurants, a distillery, a brewery, a museum, landmarks, and specialty stores. When we visited we had lunch at an Iowa classic, Happy Joes. When we visited sat on the back patio, with views of the river. Afterwards, we went to Mississippi River Distilling Co. and enjoyed a flight. We then enjoyed strolling around the quaint downtown. Although we stopped off as a detour on a trip up the river, we both agreed LeClaire is absolutely perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway along the Mississippi.
