A fun chain that originated in the Quad Cities is Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream. The chain started in the 1970s in Bettendorf Iowa and has since expanded, including locations in Egypt! Growing up we frequented the St. Louis location, but also have visited several locations throughout the Quad Cities. Happy Joe’s serves up as the name suggests, pizza and ice cream; however, they also serve up appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pastas, and desserts. The food and atmosphere is quite fun, and one particular focal point is the taco pizza. Happy Joe’s is said to have invented the taco pizza, so visitors can try out the original! For those in the Midwest, we definitely recommend trying out the fun pizza chain!
