An iconic St. Louis landmark that is full of attractions is St. Louis Union Station. The former train station was once the largest train station and served 100,000 people a day. For years Union Station served as mall, but closed in the early 2000s. Today Union Station serves as a beautiful historic building with a variety of places to explore. The architecture is ornate stonework, curved features, and a tower that stretches over Market Street.

A foundational element of Union Station is the long standing hotel, that provides a nice stay and a lovely event space. The Grand Hall is a massive space with rounded ceilings and ornate detailing. The room has a bar in the center and then lush seats spread throughout the room for people to sit and enjoy a drink. Each evening the Grand Hall has an elaborate light display, so visitors can sit back and watch a coordinated light show.

In the last few years the Union Station has undergone a full renovation and the former train station has been converted to an array of attractions, including the St. Louis Aquarium. The updates include a Ferris wheel, carousel, miniature golf, mirror maze, and a high ropes course, as well as a variety of different restaurant options. Additionally, there is a large water feature that has a coordinated fire show at the top of every hour. A great feature that keeps to the origin of the train station is the former tracks running along the ground and several beautifully renovated trains that become part of the Polar Express during the winter. Union Station has different events throughout the year, providing visitors with new experiences with each visit.
