Narrows Brewing is located in southwest Tacoma and, as the name implies, overlooks the Narrows of Puget Sound between the mainland and the Olympic Peninsula. The brewery resides within the Narrows Marina; amongst all of the warehouse-style buildings it can be easy to miss. Once inside, you have to walk a bit through parts of the brewery and seating areas until you arrive in the actual taproom, which is small but cozy with lots of wood, black color, and industrial elements. Windows on one side of the taproom offer a lovely view of the Narrows and the Narrows Bridge. If you visit in warmer weather, a nice patio extends off of the taproom.

The brewery has a variety of styles, ranging from classics to more experimental beers. We enjoyed a tasting flight with some of our favorite styles–a pilsner, a blonde, and two IPAs–and found a nice seat in a corner overlooking the Sound to try the different beers. There were only a few people there, so we had a lovely time sipping our beers. Overall, Narrows Brewing was a fun place to check out and is a Tacoma brewery worth going to.
