The National Park system allows you to explore the country and learn more about the history, cultures, and people. We recently visited the Nez Perce National Park Historical Park, which expands Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. We visited the site based out of Lapwai, Idaho and explored a few nearby sites. The park highlights the long history and culture of the Nez Perce people, with particular attention on the interactions between the Nez Perce and those who moved into their ancestral lands.

Visitors can go to a variety of sites including a museum, battlefields, historic sites, and the natural landscape that is embedded into the identity of the Nez Perce. The museum demonstrates the detailed artistry of the Nez Perce’s beadwork and tanning. Additionally, there are events throughout the year for people to learn more. We definitely recommend a visit to learn more about the Nez Perce and view some incredible natural scenery.
