Washington Wine Week – Day 4

There are wineries throughout the Yakima Valley, but there are certain towns that have a large concentration of wineries, and the Zillah area is one of them. Visitors could spend days in the Zillah region, and one of the lovely wineries there is J. Bell Cellars. The winery has lovely grounds, with multiple spaces to sit outside and enjoy the scenery, as well as a koi pond and large lavender field! J. Bell has perhaps one of the best outdoor spaces for relaxing in the area that we have found thus far.

J. Bell features primarily red wines, with a large assortment, but also offers white, and a rose. When we visited we participated in a wine tasting and tried a variety of J. Bell’s wines. There were only a couple of other people, providing a relaxed atmosphere. The wines were elevated, well-balanced wines with complex flavors. We both quite enjoyed the tasting and purchased a bottle of the Rouseanne and Syrah. Besides the Zillah location, there is a tasting room in the Woodinville region as well; however, we recommend a visit to the Zillah tasting room to enjoy the lovely scenery and nice wine.
