For those who enjoy wine, but perhaps would like to avoid some of the crowds of popular regions, such as Napa, the Yakima Valley provides a similar experience, but at a more relaxed pace. Yakima Valley is made up of several towns that are filled with an assortment of wineries. We have visited quite a few of the Yakima wineries, and have found that to be a tasty, but more relaxed PNW-style wine-tasting experience. One of our favorite towns for wine is Zillah, WA. The town has an assortment of wineries, including Two Mountain Winery. The winery is situated in the rolling, golden hills, with spectacular views of the mountains on a clear day. Inside the tasting room is fairly small, while the decor is a rustic, slightly western-themed winery with a few tables, as well as a bar. When we visited we were the only other guests, so it was a very relaxed and enjoyable tasting. We did a tasting with a few wines, which were all nice, relaxing dinner wines. Our favorite was perhaps the Rosé, which typically neither of us like, so we excited to find a Rosé we enjoyed. We purchased a variety of a couple of wines and found it to be a very relaxed, tasting experience!
