An iconic Chicago restaurant chain is Portillos. Originally, Portillos started as a hot dog stand, but has since become a staple casual restaurant in throughout the Chicago area. Although originally hot dogs, Portillos now serves up burgers, sandwiches with varying protein options, salads, pasta, shakes, and an assortment of sides, as well as the classic, hot dogs. The Chicago-based establishment is so popular, that no matter what time of day we have visited, Portillos has always been quite busy! We enjoy getting a classic burger and fries, with perhaps a shake to dip our fries in (yum!); however, the different options provide variety for whatever comfort food you are in the mood for. There are plenty of locations throughout the city, so if you are visiting, we definitely recommend a stop by Portillos!
