For those who enjoy historic home tours, the Samuel Cupples House on Saint Louis University’s (SLU) campus, provides an opportunity to explore a historic home and visit an art museum! Samuel Cupples was a prominent St. Louisian and his home provides the opportunity to explore beautiful architecture and learn more about St. Louis history. The mansion is quite large and beautiful with intricate masonry, architectural details, and wood floors with inlays. The first and second floor of the home house exquisite furniture and dinnerware pieces, while the second and third floor also serve as a museum with varying mediums of art. We spent a little more than an hour at the house and were able to see the home fully and enjoy the art as well. Additionally, the museum is free, making a fun and free activity for a cold winter day! If the sun is out, you can then enjoy a stroll around SLU’s campus.
