One of the newest developments in midtown St. Louis is the City Foundry, which opened a little more than a year ago. The original location served as foundry, hence the name, but it is now transformed into a large food hall that serves up a wide assortment of restaurants, including local St. Louis chefs and their diverse cuisine. City Foundry is located right off of interstate 64, making it easily accessible. The new mixed used space is primarily a food hall, but also features local shops, weekly events (such as live music), and annual events (such as a holiday market). Additionally City Foundry will soon offer a movie theater, mini golf, fitness classes, a virtual reality experience area, City Winery, and an event space that highlights the buildings industrial history.

The space itself is quite impressive! On one side is a parking garage, shops, and even the offices for the Great River Greenway that has trails running through St. Louis. In the middle there is a large outdoor space that has tables and chairs for visitors to sit and enjoy. On the other side is the large food hall. Throughout all of City Foundry, the focus is on maintaining the original history of the building. We have visited several times and enjoyed a variety of the different food options; however, our favorite so far is Buenos Aires Cafe (the empanadas are delicious!) and Kalbi Taco Shack! We definitely recommend several visits to City Foundry to explore the amazing food and check out the additional attractions as they continue to open!
