Typically, we do not get food from a gas station; however Oak Barrel Cafe has changed our entire perception. Oak Barrel Cafe is connected to the a small gas station off of I-68 in western Maryland. The cafe features a large outdoor patio that is quite lovely! Once inside the cafe is small, but cozy, and filled with an assortment of knick knacks, as well as a variety of local products for visitors to purchase.

The menu is centered around classic cafe foods, such as sandwiches, soups, and salads, but also flatbread, burgers, appetizers, and breakfast items. We ordered the Kick’n Chicken Wrap and the Turkey and Cranberry sandwich. The food was phenomenal! We both agreed it was one of the best wraps and sandwiches we had ever eaten. The cafe also serves an assortment of sweet options. Oak Barrel Cafe serves ice cream, so visitors can enjoy a frozen sweet, or purchase the local goods that are sold, such as handmade cakes or puppy chow. The ambiance of the cafe, the delicious food, and the fun assortment of local products, such as wine or baked goods, made Oak Barrel Cafe one of our absolute favorite restaurants we have ever visited! We highly recommend a visit to the cute little cafe.
