Ever since our visit to Traveler’s Rest State Historic Site, we have been interested in the stopping points for travelers. When we visited The Black Horse Inn we had the privilege of staying in one ourselves! So when we were driving through Maryland, we were excited for the chance to explore another historic inn. The Casselman Inn in Grantsville, MD was originally built in in 1843 and has since served as a place for weary travelers to rest. The inn is located off of interstate 68 along the small historic district, making it a nice stopping place still today. Besides, a place to lay one’s head, the inn also provides visitors with a restaurant to grab a bite to eat, along with baked goods. When we stayed at The Casselman Inn, we found it to be a unique stopping place.
