The winery with perhaps one of the best scenic views in Missouri is Montelle Winery in Augusta, MO. The winery overlooks a lovely valley that provides sweeping views of the floodplains. Montelle was founded in 1970, but has had a couple of different owners with the most recent purchase in 2021. The new owners are a large conglomerate that have purchased several wineries in the area and now offer a bus that transports visitors to the other area wineries for those who want to spend the day wine tasting. The winery has a tasting room, several decks, a restaurant, spirits, events throughout the year, and of course, wine. Montelle has a variety of reds and whites, and visitors can partake in a tasting to explore the different styles. When we visited we did a tasting, which was a standard tasting, but our favorite part was definitely the sweeping views.
