Located in the heart of Clayton, in the backyard of Clayton High School, is Shaw Park. The park is situated just off of highway 64 making it easily accessible for those throughout the St. Louis area. The park is on some sloping hills and has walking trails throughout. There are a variety of attractions for visitors including picnic areas, a fountain, playgrounds, a sensory garden, a large pavilion, ball fields, sand volleyball courts, and a couple small gardens. Additionally, there is an aquatic center and outdoor skating rink to provide visitors with seasonal activities. The Centennial Greenway also connects the park to the vast greenway network throughout the metro region. Besides the regular and seasonal activities, Shaw Park also offers a variety of events throughout the year such as sporting events, Easter egg hunts, and outdoor concerts. Throughout the year, Shaw Park provides visitors with an opportunity to get out in nature in the midst of Clayton.
