Black Shire Distillery is located just outside Hermann, Missouri at an old farmstead. This historic location is where all the distilling is done. The farmstead also houses a tasting room, though there is a second tasting room located in downtown Hermann. This second tasting room is placed amidst several other drink establishments, all of which are owned by Hermannhof. The Black Shire tasting room resides in a rather lovely large brick building reminiscent of horse stables. Guests can get a variety of drinks, as well as tasting flights, in the tasting room before sitting on the large patio or in one of the other stable-like buildings on the property. We decided to buy a tasting flight in order to try as many of Black Shire’s spirits as we could. We were able to choose which spirits we wanted to try, so we got a variety, including gin, vodka, and whiskey. We were glad we had the opportunity to try Black Shire during a pleasant trip to Hermann and the surrounding area.
