Bluewood Brewing is located just down the street from the historic Lemp Brewery along the artistic and indie center of Cherokee Street. As with many of the buildings in this area, Bluewood resides in a charming brick building with lots of interesting architectural details. In fact, one of the best parts of a visit to Bluewood is the lovely patio, which is largely covered but has two open windows and an entrance filled with ironwork. These architectural details, along with the old brick, dim lighting, and fireplace, lend a coziness and intimacy to the patio.

Bluewood’s patio contains a few tables for visitors, along with a small area to place drink orders. The brewery has a number of different beers on tap for visitors to try, so we ordered several five ounce pours. We were able to sip a pilsner, a lager, an IPA, and two stouts in a small nook of the patio and enjoyed trying the different beers. Overall, we found our time spent at Bluewood to be fun and relaxing.

Sidenote: While Bluewood does not have food, they have a partnership with Mac’s Local Eats, which is located next door. Normally, you can have food from Mac’s delivered at Bluewood, though at the moment you have to go through Mac’s drive thru and order food before arriving at Bluewood.
