Mount Pleasant Estates is situated along Missouri’s Weinstraße in Augusta, just north of the Missouri River. This location makes for a scenic setting, as the view from the winery consists of rolling hills and sweeping vistas. Mount Pleasant is a rather large winery, so the grounds are extensive, with lots of different buildings both for wine production and for visitors. There are also plenty of vineyards on the grounds.

The tasting room is adjacent to the main parking lot, so visitors are able to see the many different wines Mount Pleasant offers for purchase, as well as take part in a tasting. We were able to try a variety of whites, reds, and dessert wines in our tasting, which we enjoyed thoroughly. We particularly enjoyed Mount Pleasant’s dry reds. Our tasting was made even better by our server, who spent a lot of time with us and shared some interesting wine facts with us.

While we only partook in the wine tasting, Mount Pleasant also has a lovely patio overlooking the vineyards and the Missouri river valley. Visitors can enjoy a glass or a bottle here, as well as pair it with some food from Mount Pleasant’s Appellation Cafe, which serves salads, wraps, and sandwiches.

Overall, our visit to Mount Pleasant was a nice experience, during which we had a personalized tasting and enjoyed several good wines.
