While visiting family who live in the Knoxville metro area we recently had the pleasure of trying Yassin’s Falafel House. Yassin’s originally opened in downtown Knoxville in 2014. It has been so successful that Yassin’s has opened a second location in west Knoxville, the location that we visited. The restaurant is located in a shopping center and is simply decorated. Customers walk in to a plain but sleek white countertop where they can order their food. The rest of the restaurant has bold colors on the walls and simple tables, chairs, and booths.

Yassin’s has a small menu featuring four sandwiches (falafel, chicken, gyro, and vegetable), three salads (falafel, chicken, and gyro), and four plates (falafel, chicken, gyro, and vegetable), along with a few sides, such as hummus, french fries, and baba ganoush. The four of us tried several different items, including the chicken shawarma sandwich, the gyro sandwich, the falafel plate, and the hummus. Each part of the meal was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and all of the flavors blended well together. We agreed that it was some of the best Mediterranean food we had ever had. Even though everything was so good, the prices were incredibly reasonable. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Yassin’s and highly recommend visiting.

Side Note: If the food isn’t reason enough to go, Yassin’s is well-known for helping the Knoxville community, for example, giving out free food to those in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
