During a recent trip to the Poconos, we stopped off outside of Cleveland at Brim Kitchen + Brewery for dinner. The restaurant/brewery is located in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland and was an ideal stopping point after a visit to the James A. Garfield National Historic Site. The building appears to be a new build, with white brick, expansive windows, tall ceilings, and metal accent features that create a modern and slightly industrial feel. There are two floors, and the first floor has light woods mixed with black metal, white brick, and a few plants dotted throughout the restaurant providing pops of color. The bar sits along the back wall, while dining is all along the front. Upstairs the layout and decor reflect the first floor, but it is much smaller, and opens out to an exquisite rooftop deck that has a fireplace at the center and nice couches to lounge on.

During our visit we opted for the rooftop deck and were able to enjoy a nice breeze and the warm sun. We started with a flight that allowed us to try variety of the beers the brewery had on tap. The beers were decent, and since we visited at the end of summer the majority of the beers were light. Our drinks nicely paired with our order of pepperoni and applewood bacon flatbread, and the arugula and poached pear greens. We both found our food to be quite flavorful, and well-prepared. The lunch/dinner menu features a variety of small plate options, greens, flatbreads, and some more substantial options, as well as a separate brunch and dessert menu. Besides beer, Brim offers an assortment of wine and cocktails. Both of us quite enjoyed our visit, and found the atmosphere, beer, and food to be a nice end to our vacation.
