Fall Festivals & Events – Day 1
Each year on an evening in September, St. Louisans flock to Art Hill to listen to serenades by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for free. Art Hill is located in Forest Park, providing a central location for visitors. The event is quite popular, so prepare to arrive early, or to walk. The zoo provides free parking for concert goers, which we have found works quite nicely if you don’t mind a long walk. The symphony is situated at the bottom of Art Hill, creating a natural outdoor amphitheater. Visitors often bring with them picnic dinners to enjoy while they listen to the concert. Typically, the symphony plays a variety of classical pieces, popular songs, and various scores, creating a nice variety. After the concert finishes the finale is a nice firework show. This year marks the 51st year the concert will take place. We definitely recommend visiting to experience the talents of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in a lovely environment.
