For those visiting Grafton, IL, Grafton Winery & Brewhaus is a nice stopping point.  Grafton Winery & Brewhaus has two locations, the vineyard and tasting room that is outside of downtown Grafton, while the winery and brewhaus is located along the main road making it an easy place to pull over for those exploring the bluffs. The winery and brewhaus is a newly constructed building with the brewery on the 1st floor, and the restaurant and tap room on the second. The restaurant and tap room open up to an expansive patio on the second floor that provides nice views of the river. Inside the restaurant and tap room is an expansive room with the bar top at the center of the room, high airy ceilings with exposed beam, fireplaces, and large windows throughout the room to allows visitors to see views of the river even when inside.

When we visited it was chilly out so we decided to stay inside and sit along the windows, nestled near the fireplace. The winery and brewhaus have an assortment of wines and beers, as well as pub-style menu. We ordered a wine flight, which comes in cute little muffin trays, so that we could experience Grafton Winery’s wines. We primarily tried the reds and the fruit wines, which were all nice, but our favorite was the blackberry. The wine and the setting provided for a relaxing stop on the way to Pere Marquette State Park & Lodge.
