Coffee Week – Day 4

Located in Maplewood is Foundation Grounds a coffee house. Foundation Grounds is in a classic brick building with large windows on a corner in the center of Maplewood. During the warmer months there are tables outside, providing outdoor seating. Inside there is a large coffee bar with pastry options in the center of the coffee house. The decor is fairly basic with neutral walls besides a bright accent wall behind the coffee bar. There are a few decorative lights and abstract art along the walls, while bright lights pours inside from the massive window. Sitting consists of standard wooden tables and chairs, as well as bar tables along the windows.

Foundation Grounds uses locally roasted beans, such as Blueprint Coffee and is known for being organic based. The coffee house has a variety of coffee based drinks, as well as a variety of other beverages, such as tea, hot chocolate, lemonade, and fresh juice, so that there is something available for everyone. Besides providing beverages, Foundation Grounds has a plethora of pastries, and meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including bagels, sandwiches, salads, quesadillas, and more. When we visited we grabbed coffee, a latte, and a lemon poppy seed pound cake. The coffee and the atmosphere was nice, making Foundatin Grounds a good place to grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee.
