Coffee Week – Day 3

A popular St. Louis coffee chain that now has 17 locations and has spread to Columbia, MO; Kansas City, MO; and Atlanta, GA is Kaldi’s Coffee Roasting Co. The coffee roasters were founded in 1994, and their first location was adjacent to Concordia Seminary in the Demun neighborhood in Clayton. We both love Kaldi’s and while we were in Atlanta we were thrilled when Kaldi’s came because it provided us somewhere to go when were homesick for St. Louis. Now that we are back in St. Louis, we are excited to be able to easily access not only Kaldi’s, but all that St. Louis has to offer. We visited the flagship location shortly after returning to St. Louis, as well as Kayak Coffeehouse, which is run by Kaldi’s.

Kaldi’s roasts it’s own beans, provides a variety of coffee variations, and has a large array of menu items to provide visitors with a full cafe experience. The Roastery is located in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood, while their cafes are throughout the city. Kaldi’s has an array of coffee, tea, frozen drinks, breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Our first visit back in St. Louis, we visited the original location when family was in town visiting us. The outside is a classic St. Louis red brick building with big windows and has an array of tables under an awning. Inside the cafe is decorated with dark walls, tin ceilings, and accent light fixtures. We have visited a couple times since moving back, and we have tried of variety of food including the black bean burger, Greek salad, bagels, and a black bean burrito, as well as coffee and lattes. Each time we have enjoyed our food, drinks, and the atmosphere that Kaldi’s provides.
