St. Louis is full of parks and one of the largest parks is Tower Grove Park. Tower Grove sits at the base of the Missouri Botanical Garden and is the second largest city park in ST. Louis. The park, like the Botanical Garden was a gift from Henry Shaw, and is almost an extension of the Botanical Gardens as the landscape designs throughout the park are exquisite. Additionally, there is beautiful architectural elements throughout the park including various pavilions that are uniquely crafted and available for events, stone structures, monuments, and gates throughout the park, and several different buildings, such as the Park Office and the Piper Palm House. The Piper Palm House is greenhouse that is utilized as a venue and is also home to Café Madeline, a French-style restaurant only available on Sundays for brunch. The Piper Palm House is also utilized during the summer for free concerts by different St. Louis concert bands.

Like most parks, Tower Grove provides visitors with the opportunity to be in nature and participate in recreational activity. The park has paths throughout the park for visitors to walk or run, as well as roads for bikers. There is also tennis courts, play grounds, sports fields, pickleball courts, and vast spaces of green space for visitors to play on.  The park also offers a variety of programs, including senior programs and art classes, as well as occasional lectures.

Tower Grove also offers a variety of events throughout the seasons including a Flower Power (a benefit event), Pavilion in the Park (an event with music and drinks), a beer festival, Festival of Nations, Terror in the Park, Tower Trot 5k, and carriage rides. Throughout the warmer months, there are food trucks once a month on Fridays and a Farmer’s Market that sells a variety of goods and is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays and during the month of December, the market becomes a Holiday Market and rotates locations throughout the city.

Overall, Tower Grove Park provides an array of activities, festivals, and greenery to ensure there is something for everyone.
