Multnomah Falls is perhaps one of the most iconic waterfalls in the United States, but is also one of the most accessible. Just outside of Portland, Multnomah Falls is located right off the highway making it easily accessible for those visiting the area. Near the entrance there is also a small museum, a gift shop, and a restaurant. The building itself is a nice stone structure and sits in front of the mountains, making for a relaxed atmosphere.

Currently the majority of the hiking trails are closed due to a fire a couple years ago, but some are beginning to reopen making it again a hiking destination. The falls are located near the entrance and require a only a short walk to view them. Additionally, visitors can hike to just the base of the falls or a short trail up that crosses over the bridge of the falls, providing different views. When we visited we hiked to the falls and up to the bridge, which was a nice visit and provided some good photo opportunities. The sound of the waterfall was also quite calming, making for a relaxed visit.
