The Lahaina Cannery in Maui provides an opportunity for visitors to learn more about Hawaiian culture. The cannery itself is a mall with a food court, but there is also a stage with different culture events, including hula shows, hula lessons, crafts, ukulele lessons, and art shows. When we visited we came for the hula show, which is free every Sunday. A local group of varying ages perform different dances at the show, and before each performance, a spokesperson will provide a little background and history regarding the dance or the region it is from. When we went we had a nice time learning more about Hawaiian history and culture and enjoyed the performance!
