The Ale Apothecary is a small-batch brewery specializing in wild, naturally-fermented, and barrel-aged beer. The brewery is located in Bend, Oregon and prioritizes local ingredients, both those that go in each batch of beer and the yeasts and bacteria that ferments the beer. Because The Ale Apothecary brews only using natural processes, they also utilize old recipes and processes in some of their beers.

The Ale Apothecary has a small taproom in Bend at which visitors can enjoy beers on tap or to go. The taproom is cozy and rustic, similar to the beers The Ale Apothecary brews. We were only able to stop by to grab some beers to go, so we tried them later, though we may have bought more if we had known how the beers would taste. Each of the beers was unique and flavorful; they were great examples of naturally-fermented beers.

Although there are many breweries in Oregon and in Bend, The Ale Apothecary is worth seeking out for their interesting brewing techniques, natural ingredients, and tasty beer.
