In the heart of Lincoln Park in Chicago is the Lincoln Park Zoo. The grounds surrounding the zoo are nice gardens, ensuring the walk to the zoo is nice before you even enter. Once inside the zoo has a wide array of animals, with sections focused on Africa, the Arctic, birds, apes, hoofed animals, reptiles, seals, primates, and apes. Additionally, the zoo has a few cafes, a children’s area, a train, and a farm. The zoo itself is free, so the only thing we had to pay for was parking. We recently visited and spent a couple hours exploring the zoo and were able to visit everything except the farm and children’s area. The zoo itself was quite nice and we enjoyed meeting up with family to explore the critters – are favorite was the red pandas!
