One of the best parts of the Seattle-Tacoma area is Puget Sound. The islands and waterways are incredible, and we love any opportunity to take a long stroll along the water. Ruston Way Park runs along the Sound for miles in Tacoma providing a long stretch for walkers, joggers, and bike riders. The park is made up several small parks that are all connected with a single path. Along the way visitors can stop at the beach, the Chinese Reconciliation Park, the pier, restaurants, and more. The park starts just below downtown Tacoma and runs all the way to Point Ruston. Ruston Way Park is typically less crowded than Point Ruston, so you can enjoy the waterfront without as many people. We frequently visit and enjoy exploring the different little sections while taking in the beautiful views of Mount Rainier and Puget Sound.
