After opening a successful restaurant in South City, Kounter Kulture, the owners decided to open a second restaurant in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood. The restaurant, Songbird, is located in a beautiful old brick building with lightly-painted trim and the name of the restaurant etched on the window. The lightly-colored paint scheme continues in the interior, where the space is bright in Easter-egg pinks, yellows, and greens.

Songbird has a small menu and serves mostly breakfast food, though there are a few lunch items on the menu as well. All the menu items are artisanally prepared with local, fresh ingredients. We ordered a coffee and a breakfast sandwich, which was a pleasant way to start our morning. Overall, Songbird is a nice place to drop by for a coffee and bite to eat if you are in the neighborhood.
