Located in downtown Salt Lake City, Bewilder Brewing resides in a low brick building in an industrial area. As such, the brewery is rather unassuming, aside from the large mural painted on the facade of the building. Inside, the industrial vibe continues, though the lights, warm-colored wood, and clean spaces create a pleasant atmosphere.
We, unfortunately, were unable to spend much time in the brewery because Utah state law prohibits minors from even entering breweries, even if they have food. As a result, we ordered food to go and bought a few single cans to sample. Bewilder Brewing’s menu features German and American pub food with local and artisanal ingredients, including typical American fare such as appetizers, salads, and burgers, as well as German cuisine such as spaetzle, schnitzel and schnitzel sandwiches, bratwurst, and currywurst. We were excited to try the German food, and ordered a salad alongside spaetzle and a schnitzel sandwich. The food was quite good.
We were able to try several of Bewilder’s beers, including an Italian Pilsner called Vitruvian Pilsner, a Mexican lager named Cerveza de Mayo, and two IPAs, Gecko Fingers and Dos Hazy Boi. The beers were well made and enjoyable.
Bewilder Brewing is a nice brewpub with a nice atmosphere, good food, and good beer. We recommend this brewery if you need a meal or a drink (or both!) in Salt Lake City.
