Waikiki Brewing Company is located, as you might guess, just a bit down the shore from Waikiki Beach on O’ahu. However, Waikiki has grown to include another location on Maui.
We visited the location on O’ahu for dinner and beer. The brewpub is a bit unassuming as its in a small, industrial-style building and set amidst a number of bigger and taller buildings. Nevertheless, the brewpub is charming; we sat outside and enjoyed the night air on the patio, surrounded by palm trees. Waikiki has a number of beers on tap, most of which are brewed to specific styles, though some also feature some interesting, non-traditional ingredients. We paired our tasting flight of several beers (including a Hefeweizen, a lager, and an IPA) with a salad and the Kiawe Smoked Brisket, which was Waikiki’s twist on traditional Hawaiian food. Waikiki also offers a number of other menu items, including appetizers, such as wings, nachos, and fries; sandwiches, including burgers, chicken sandwiches, and pulled pork; pizza; and some specials, many featuring fish.
Our visit to Waikiki was a very pleasant way to spend the evening, and we enjoyed both our food and our drinks. Waikiki Brewing is a fun place to eat if you’re visiting Honolulu.
