Brewery Week: Day 5 – Missouri

We conclude Brewery Week by traveling to the Midwest. Shortleaf Brewing has two locations in Missouri, one in the Lake of the Ozarks, another in O’Fallon. We visited the location in O’Fallon, which looks like a fairly standard, square-shaped restaurant, with the addition of some nice brick. The interior is plain and dark with lots of high-top tables around the bar in the middle of the restaurant.

Shortleaf offers a rather standard pub menu, with lots of appetizers, sandwiches, and salads. They also offer a brunch on Sundays. We shared a caesar salad and a fried chicken sandwich. We also got to sample four of Shortleaf’s beers. Shortleaf brews a variety of styles, some in more traditional styles, others with more experimental ingredients. We were happy we were able to try the different beers.

Shortleaf Brewing might be worth checking out if you find yourself in O’Fallon, Missouri.
