Brewery Week – Day 2: Washington

The second featured brewery of brewery week takes us west to Washington. Airways Brewing is located in Kent, Washington, just a few miles from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and its many related facilities, such as Boeing. Airways actually has two locations near each other, the Taproom & Brewery and the Bistro & Beer Garden. We visited the latter, which is located in a brick building with a lovely outdoor seating area full of plant life that feels like its much more relaxed than the location would indicate.

Airways features a large drink menu that includes its own beers, but also cocktails, guest taps, and a wine list. We, however, ordered a tasting flight that included several of Airways’s beers, most of which are brewed in traditional styles. We were quite happy with our flight; the beers were tasty and easy to drink, going perfectly with our meal.

Airways’s food menu is a good size–not too large but featuring plenty of flatbreads, sandwiches, salads, and small plates to accommodate a range of palettes. We split a bacon and fig flatbread with a bistro greens salad, both of which were delicious. We were quite happy with our choices, though there were several other things on the menu that intrigued us.

Airways Brewing was a great place to relax, grab a bite to eat, and have a drink. We recommend checking out this Washington brewery.
