Sonny’s Patio Pub & Refuge is a trendy neighborhood bar and restaurant with food, drinks, music, and games. The pub is located in the Germantown area of Nashville in a handsome brick building. The interior is of moderate size with bright colors and pub-style high-top tables. Several garage doors at the back of the pub open up to the large outdoor area, with lots of seating and turf on the ground, making it east to play a plethora of yard games. The combination of indoor and outdoor seating makes the interior feel light and airy, while the outdoor area really expands the space for a fun, casual vibe.
Sonny’s has plenty of drink options, including local craft beer, cocktails, mimosas, seltzers, and frozen drinks. The pub’s food menu specializes in salads, sandwiches, and flatbreads, with several varieties of each, along with a few traditional pub-style appetizers. We tried a couple local beers and split a power salad and a chicken sandwich, all of which were enjoyable. As we ate, we listened to a live musical showcase–Sonny’s hosts local artists and allows them to perform a few of their songs during different times.
Overall, Sonny’s is fairly typical modern pub, with traditional food made in a more artisan style. In addition, the pub has plenty of different drink options and lots of games and activities to appeal to young professionals. If this is your vibe, then you will probably enjoy a visit to Sonny’s.
