South Sound Park Week – Day 1

The sun is finally starting to peek out and we are thrilled to be exploring nature again! This week we will highlight five different parks throughout Sound Sound. Powderworks Park is located in the charming area of Dupont, WA. The park is named after the former explosives factory in the area and provides visitors with an assortment of activities in nature. Powderworks Park offers visitors paved trails, restored prairies, a wide assortment of athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a dog park. When we visited we focused on meandering along the trails, and came across quite a few deer. The unique feature of the Powderworks Park is the placement in the midst of the suburbs, so it is quite accessible to a various neighborhoods, as well as numerous, smaller parks that are dotted throughout the subdivisions and all connected through sidewalks or trails. We both love the Dupont area and thoroughly enjoyed not only the Powderworks Park, but walking to the various little parks in the area!
