Tucked into the middle of downtown Chicago is one of our favorite parks – Lake Shore East Park! The park is only a few acres, but provides such a lovely little respite in the midst of the city. Other parks in the downtown area are often filled with tourists, but Lake Shore East Park has a more relaxed feel to it. The park is surrounded by skyscrapers, but provides an escape in the concrete jungle with greenery, flowers, an open field, shade, and some lovely water features. The park also features a dog park and a playground for kiddos. Since the park is situated in the midst of the city, the bottom floor of the skyscrapers contain an assortment of restaurants, providing the perfect day of grabbing a bite to eat and then just relaxing in the park. Our favorite park though is the water features, which allow you to drown out the noise of the city and enjoy.
