The majority of wineries in Napa Valley are located off of the main two drives running through the valley, but there are also wineries dotted along the hills. Vincent Arroyo is located of one of the main drives, but still close to downtown Calistoga. The winery is situated at the edge of the valley in a large barn building down a dirt road with olives growing alongside the road. The location, layout, and style, make it less touristy than many of the other Napa wineries. Although it is a more laid back winery, Vincent Arroyo Winery has continued to be recognized as one of the top wineries in Napa.

Like many wineries in Napa, visitors are required to make a reservation to book a tasting, but in comparison to other wineries, a tasting is more affordable. Vincent Arroyo is both highly ranked, while also one of the most affordable wineries to visit. When we visited we went on a short tour of the equipment and the grounds and then made our way to the tasting. The tasting took place among the wine barrels, providing a fun, and different experience than many of the other wineries in Napa. The sommelier was knowledgeable about the wine and provided us with the base samplings, as well as a few others. We both enjoyed the tasting, and found the wines to be quite good. Most of all, we enjoyed the opportunity to have a more relaxed wine tasting experience.
