A lovely little park in Webster Groves is Lockwood Park. The park is in the heart of an urban area, but allows visitors an opportunity to be in nature. Lockwood Park has a playground, trail that wraps around the park, and a few ecosystems, including a prairie, shortleaf pine forest, and cypress grove in less than few acres. For those in the Shrewsbury and Webster neighborhoods, Lockwood Park is a delightful park to go for a nature walk, enjoying wild flowers, and bird watching. When we visited, we grabbed some lunch from Balkan Treat Box and had a nice picnic lunch. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed watching the prairie grasses and wild flowers blowing in the wind.
