St. Louis Metro Area Brewery Week – Day 2
Alpha Brewing Company opened its doors in downtown St. Louis in 2013 and moved to a larger location in the Tower Grove South neighborhood in 2018. The brewery sits inside of a rather typical South City St. Louis brick building with glass bricks adding some sunlight and character. Alpha has added a modern-looking wraparound patio, making the building distinctive and providing more seating. Inside, the open rafters and exposed ducts give an industrial feel, while the sleek black chairs, dark colors, modern light fixtures, and large mural facing the entry give the space a unique, futuristic vibe.
Alpha Brewing highlights the head brewer’s science background, which he utilizes in making the beer Alpha serves. Beer styles vary from traditional styles like blonde and brown ales to experimental beers like barrel aged beers and sours featuring interesting fruit additives. We had a tasting flight, which enabled us to try several of these beers.

The brewery also has a small food menu with some elevated twists to traditional pub food. The menu changes weekly but has a few appetizers and sandwich-type dishes. We ordered a smash burger and found it to be a nice addition to our beers.

For those near Tower Grove, Alpha is an easy place to walk to in order to grab a beer and a bite to eat.
