Right along the Missouri River in St. Charles, MO is Klondike Park. The park is located along the Katy Trail, making it a nice stopping point for those riding along the trail. The area was previously used as a quarry, but has since become a place for hiking, biking, fishing, and camping, as well as space for events. Klondike Park is situated on the bluffs, providing lovely expansive views of the Missouri River and the floodplains. We visited after a charming day along the Weinstraße during fall, and the leaves along the lake and on the bluffs created a lovely day hike. Klondike Park was a perfect afternoon hike.
