In the town of Prairie Du Chien, WI is the fun little restaurant Simply Cafe. The eatery is in a cute two-story red brick building along the main downtown area. Inside the restaurant is divided into three spaces, but the same rustic themes throughout. In the front room is an assortment of chairs and tables, the second area is a long hallway with a water tank and the bar area to order foods and drinks, and the third area is additional seating spaces. The decor has exposed brick, wood and steel elements, and various knick-knacks along the wall.

The menu is an assortment of classic, but delicious cafe items, such as grains, soups, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and a wide variety of drinks, including coffees, teas, and smoothies. When we visited we got a smoothie, Greek salad, and a cranberry salad. The portions were quite filing and the food was well-prepared and tasty! We grabbed our meals before going for a hike, and it made the perfect picnic lunch. For those along the Iowa/Wisconsin border, we recommend a visit to Simply Cafe!
