A fun stopping point across Pennsylvania is Blackbird Distillery. The distillery is located off of I-80 at the Brookville exit only a couple minutes away. The property has a farmstead feel with the rolling hills and the goats grazing. The distillery itself is a wooden structure with a tin roof and a large covered patio that is quite nice. Inside the room is filled with kitsch signs and an assortment of local goods, such as honey and mustard. The primary focus of Blackbird Distillery though is their moonshine. There is a wide assortment of flavors and visitors can participate in a tasting to find their favorite. Blackbird has an assortment of fruit-flavored moonshine that is quite unique. We purchased a couple of the small flavored bottles, but our favorite was the Blackbird Platinum, which tasted like vodka. We are not even huge vodka fans, but we really enjoyed their version! Both of us found Blackbird Distillery to be a neat place to stop off along the way and we recommend anyone who is driving along the way to stop off and try their goods.
