Today is our 1,001 post! We started this blog to remember all of our adventures, both big and small and it has definitely worked as a way to remember places and food, but also the memories we had during each of them. During the winter break we did a “12 Days of Baking” where we made 12 recipes from family cookbooks. One of them was Kaiser Rolls, which were delicious! We decided to surprise our family and bring them a yummy breakfast that incorporated the Kaiser Rolls. So each time we make this little breakfast sandwich we remember a lovely morning with family, as well as the recipe to make for future family gatherings.
Ingredients:
Kaiser Rolls
Eggs
Turkey Bacon
Cheese of your choice
Chutney
Begin by cutting the Kaiser rolls in the middle to create two equal sized halves and then ay a piece of cheese on the bottom half of the rolls. Cook eggs over easy (or in whatever other way you prefer), and prepare bacon. After the eggs and bacon are done, place the cheese, one egg, and a strip or two of bacon on the bottom half of the kaiser roll. Spread chutney on the top half of the roll, then place it on the sandwich. Wrap the sandwich in foil and place in the oven for eight to ten minutes at 350 degrees. Take the sandwiches out of the foil and serve immediately. Afterwards you are left with a savory and slightly sweet sandwich that is filling and delicious!
