If you like both Tex-Mex and BBQ, Original J’s Tex-Mex BBQ is the perfect place! The little eatery is located in Clayton right off of the Forsyth Metro Link stop. The restaurant is inside a small brick building with a small patio in the front. Inside the decor consists of wood paneling, leather benches, and walls covered in photos. The menu as you can assume, centers around Mexican and BBQ, with the flavors perfectly pairing with one another. There are tacos, bowls, plates, and an assortment of sides. We recently tried Original J’s for a family member’s birthday and did a nice socially distance picnic. We ordered carryout and had the smoked brisket bowl, al pastor chicken bowl, brisket tacos, and a Torta Milanesa. Each dish was well-prepared, tasty, and full of flavor! We both found that if you enjoy Tex-Mex and BBQ it is the ideal place to fix some delicious flavors!
