Taum Sauk Mountain State Park is located in southeast Missouri in the Ozark mountains and i sknown for being the tallest mountain in the state. The park is located near Johnson Shut-Ins State Park and Elephant Rocks Parks, making it another great place to visit on a getaway. Taum Sauk Mountain offers visitors the opportunity to hike, picnic, bird watch, camp, and of course take in some incredible views! The park has an extensive trail that actually connects to Johnson Shut-Ins, allowing you to visit both parks with one trail. When we visited we hiked for a bit and stood at the exact tallest point, but there is also a waterfall, Mina Sauk Falls, to visit. Additionally, there is an overlook that provides expansive views of the Ozarks. We both enjoyed our visit to Taum Sauk Mountain and the incredible views.
